TIM-Online™: Real-time audience feedback via the Internet
History
In 1995, research company Klapper Communications introduced a new research tool to dynamically assess and
monitor television productions: the TV ImpactMeter™ (TIM™).
A small, selected group of respondents located in a studio environment uses this TIM™ tool to continuously rate the content of a programme. The resulting real-time likeability input is later used in focus group interviews to verify and expand on the real-time response. The revolution: Real-time Internet application
In 2003 ActiveReaction and Klapper Communications were the first to create an Internet version of TV ImpactMeter™: the TV ImpactMeter-Online (TIM-Online™).
TIM-Online™ is revolutionary: participants watch the programme to be researched using their PC at home via a broadband video stream. While doing this, they dynamically register their ratings, which are captured in real-time by our servers. At the end of the programme, an integrated, interactive online survey offers researchers the opportunity to drill down into specific aspects of the production.
